Hogenekkal Falls - Bangalore

The 3 of us, all SAP GDC Colleagues started off on this trip to Hogennekal falls.. It started off unexpected but then turned out to be wonderful experience..

We started off early by Bus (State Transport Corpn) from B`lore at 7.45AM and reached Dharmapuri (Tamilnadu) (Around 150 Kms) by around 12.30 had our late breakfast there at Saravana Bhavan. Then took a bus to Hogennekal around 50 mins. The drive was good except for the TV playing out Tamil Movies with max sound that drive you nuts. Then we took a room (A/C) costing 650 Rs for that night, since there was no point returning in a hurry since it would take around 7 hours to go back home. Had a beer and started off on our Sight Seeing..

There are small boats of circular shape light weight and strong enough to carry 7-8 people.. Appeared very delicate in the first instance but good enough.. except that it was wetting our pants with water seeping.. but then who cares..

< That`s me..

Several boatmen came to us & price quoted was Rs.750/- for 3 of us for the trip that includes waiting for the oil message.. Cost higher on Weekends. We negotiated it to 250/-.. but on weekends the boating can be as low as 125/- for 3, as we understood. Then we negotiated for a Oil Message.. & cost 200 Rs. for 3 people.. Oil costed 75/-..

Oil Message is reknowned here.. Posted by Picasa
